THE MATSU FOOD BANK collects food and shares it with ‘Food Pantries’, and the MatSu Food Bank was formed to allow us to collect, store and distribute surplus food to other Food Pantries and agencies across the MatSu Valley.
THE FOOD PANTRY OF WASILLA began in 1984, gaining our 501 status in 1994. We continue to operate a food pantry to this day under the banner of the MatSu Food Bank. Pantries distribute food collected to members of the community who are in need. We now maintain, monitor and distribute our TEFAP program. This allows us direct ordering and shipping from the government of the supplies of food they provide.
